Project Description

Irvine Bay is an Urban Regeneration Company. They are hard at work to bring jobs and economic growth to an area of North Ayrshire where job opportunities haven’t been great for several decades and the local towns were in need of a makeover.

So where does BayWatch come in? That’s the name we gave to the community newspaper that from 2008 – 2014 played an important part in keeps local people and businesses up to date with what’s happening in the Irvine Bay area. The long sandy beaches are definitely one of the big assets of the area and helped to inspire the rather flippant name for the paper, which along with its colourful design and short easy-to-read copy doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Cygnus Extra has a long-running relationship with Irvine Bay. As well as BayWatch we write copy for the website, other marketing materials, property particulars and the annual report. We also help manage various social media channels. Recently i3, Irvine’s Enterprise Area has become a major focus for attracting inward investment to the area and has required a series of briefing notes and marketing materials to support the business park opportunities that exist for life sciences and other industries to relocate in the area. With this shift in emphasis for the regeneration company, audience for the website is shifting towards inward investors and in 2014 a major redevelopment of the site is under way.
